This is a challenging task due to the complex nature of video data. Human activity recognition (HAR) aims to recognize activities from a series of observations on the actions of subjects and the environmental conditions. More than 56 million people use GitHub to discover, fork, and contribute to over 100 million projects. The data is used in the paper: Activity Recognition using Cell Phone Accelerometers. Compared with other modalities, such as RGB and depth representation, the skeleton We address human action recognition from multi-modal video data involving articulated pose and RGB frames and propose a two-stream approach. In this work, we propose PoseC3D, a new approach to skeleton-based action recognition, which relies on a 3D heatmap stack instead of a graph sequence as the base representation of human skeletons. The pose stream is processed with a convolutional model taking as input a 3D tensor holding data from a sub-sequence. We show that this replacement improves the performances of many popular 3D convolution architectures for action recognition, including ResNeXt, I3D, SlowFast and R (2+1)D. Moreover, we provide the-state-of-the-art results on both HMDB51 and UCF101 datasets with 85.10% and 98.69% top-1 accuracy, respectively. Modeling Video Evolution For Action Recognition. Published in International Joint Conference on Neural Network , 2021. We brieflygroup previous worksrelated to ours into two categories: 1) action recognition with hand-engineered features, and 2) CNNs for action recognition. In this work, we propose PoseC3D, a new approach to skeleton-based action recognition, which relies on a 3D heatmap stack instead of a graph sequence as the base representation of human skeletons. This is my final project for EECS-433 Pattern Recognition. With recent human action datasets [12,20,30,35], deep neural network-based action recognition methods have been actively developed in recent years. This is due to the lack of datasets that can be used to assess the quality of actions. However, action recognition remains as a diffi-cult problem when focusing on realistic datasets collected from movies [17], web videos [15, 26], and TV shows [20]. One possible DeeperAction aims to advance the area of human action understanding with a shift from traditional action recognition to deeper understanding tasks of action, with a focus on localized and detailed understanding of human action from videos in the wild.
